Certification ยป CME

To maintain certification with the NCCPA, and to renew your license with some states, you must complete continuing medical education (CME).

The NCCPA requires 100 hours every 2 years of which at least 50 hours are of category 1.

There are category 1 CMEs and category 2 CMEs. The category 1 CMEs are preapproved hours by a specific sponsor for certain journal articles, lectures, and online/audio/video educational programs. Hours that are acceptable for category 2 CMEs include voluntary, self-learning activities. This could include but is not limited to, journal reading, independant study, preceptorships etc.

While there are many CME programs that cost money, you can find CME programs that are sponsored by a grant, and thereby free for you to take.
